MP3 Jukeboxes

I'll probably get one soon, so I'd like to hear comments and experiences from people who own any of these.

I was undecided between the Archos recorder 10gb and the nomad jukebox 10gb. But the 3-4 hours battery life of the nomad kills the option, and the archos, according to opinions I'v read isn't as reliable as the nomad, sometimes it skips, and the materials used in it aren't the better ones. Also I'v read of a lot of people who's archos have stopped working. The archos only supports .mp3.

As someone will buy it in the USA and bring it to Chile, I won't buy something that has a high probablity of failing, like that archos apparently has.

So I think I'll spend more money, and get the Nomad 3. I know about the size issue, but compared to a regular discman it's not that big.

Comments?anyone have tried out any of this things?

I have a iPod, expensive yes. But it's the best MP3 player around. 5gb or 10, firewire, 8 hour battery life, charge 75% of it in less than a hour, best interface and it's small. You can double it as a firewire HD and I think I loaded my 3gb of music on there in under 3 minutes. It's REALLY nice.

Media Four sells Windows based software for the iPod for around $20. You'll need a firewire port too which aren't exactly standard on PCs yet.

Personally I wasn't too bothered about space but I wanted something extremely small and extremely sexy so I bought myself a Sony NWE10. It's about the size of a cigerette lighter, holds around 2 albums of music @ 160kbps and doesn't skip at all when I'm down the gym. Like the iPod it's an expensive option though.

I had seen the ipod, but as it was a mac thing I didn't consider it.

Have you tried that software?

anyway, I don't have a firewire port and I'd need the 10 GB version, because I already have about 6 gb of ripped CDs in my HD, and I want something that can hold every CD I have, but the 10gb ipod is really expensive :(

Hmmm...well...I don't think there is a way I could certify that I'm studying, I'm on a University, the system is different here, after high school you go to the University, there's no college.

I won't slap you...this time :p;)

I'v also looked at the Rio Riot, some nice features, but apparently it has bad battery life and it's not as reliable as the nomad.

I'v read the users comments at cnet, and there are several posts about the riot and the archos dying, but not with the NJ3
