As I myself have cable ive never really had to mess with changing any of the settings, but im trying to get my friend in the game who lives in the sticks and cant get broadband. any command help and recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

rwhitty
I'm playing with 56k myself and after a bit of fiddling I've found that your in-game settings don't really affect your connection speed, only your framerate.I may be wrong - anyone else able to help? DarthDuck
i think the best advice would be to connect to ur local jk2 server.
AnderScootDav
I reduced my Ping from around 460 to 210 or so by downloading TweakDUN and Setting MaxMTU to 1500, RWIN (select custom) to 23360, TTl to 128, Session Keep Alive (select custom) to 10. Don't use the Wizard though and for MaxMTU you should set it to 1500 then restart and then select Find under MaxMTU to make sure 1500 is the right number. TweakDUN is freeware but you can also download Accel SpeedTec from Montanasoft.com but it only works for 30 days and then you have to buy it. I got the recommended settings from SpeedTec, but used TweakDUN. I got TweakDUN from here: http://www.majorgeeks.com/article.php?sid=497 Note that I used this with Win98 I am not sure if it is the same on other OS.
