Guest Axlier
Ongoing with all my previously-discovered stuf...hehe...here is a list of ten tips for Racer. You'll probably have heard them all before, but anyway... 10 Always play aggressively - your opponents, whether human or AI, aren’t going to go out of their way to be nice to you 9 A common trait among beginners (and some of the more advanced players, too!) is that they continuously pitch down. This, as you probably know, reduces turning ability in return for extra speed. Pitching up is useful at many points - going over jumps or turning tight corners, for example 8 Learn how to slide! Until recently, I never knew about sliding, but sometimes it is the only way to get round a corner except braking 7 When racing with your podracer up on one side, always try to bring the engine down on an opponent. Though this will do little damage to you, it does a lot to them, and may even eliminate them. (This technique is super-effective when you are racing in a huge podracer and your opponent only has a tiny one!) 6 If you’re racing in a big podracer (somewhere near the front) and coming up to a small gap, this technique can be used, but only if you’re certain there’s no other way to evade being overtaken.Sit in the gap! Other podracers will ram you from behind - with any luck, you’ll take out up to three before being destroyed! 5 Always buy as many pit droids as your credits will allow before visiting Watto or his junkyard for upgrades 4 Swearing at your opponent won’t help - but taunting him/her will! Press the ‘E’ key in-game - the resulting tirade of abuse may be enough to put a beginner off completely! Be warned, though - more seasoned players will be wise to this tactic! 3 Take all the shortcuts you can find, and guard them jealously! If you’re on the first lap, with a beginner who probably won’t know about the shortcut behind you, don’t take it! Take it next time round, when you’re further away - that way, they won’t reap the benefits! However, this also works the other way - for a short-term advantage, and if it’s a difficult shortcut, take it. The person behind might not be prepared for the dangers! 2 If in the lead, boost often and try and squeeze the most possible speed out of your podracer. Take all the shortcutsIf you’re a way behind, fly better than you would in the lead - be more careful, but just as fast! If you’re confident you’ll make it, try boosting up through the pack - sure, it’ll damage you, but it might take out one or two of them completely! 1 Save up some truguts (10000 would do nicely, but if wishes were fishes...) and frequent Watto’s junkyard. If you see a Block 6 coil (speed upgrade) BUY IT, no matter how damaged. It costs 20,000 truguts new, but damage reduces the price dramatically. Once repaired by your trusty pit crew, this upgrade will max out speed for all podracers across the board. The same (although with less importance) applies to the Mag 6 generator (acceleration; 14000 new) and the Turbo Coolant Pump (cooling; 5400 new)
