PLEASE HELP ME!!!

I am trying to create a level which takes place outside in the daytime (i.e. it's light!!!), someone told me that you can use sky boxes or sky shaders or something along those lines to light up the whole level stopping me having to have millions of ligts.

Is this true and if it is how do you do it???

I would also like someone to tell me how to make md3 models solid in-game, I have put some bespin benches in my level but I can walk straight through them...

ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT THANKS!!!

sky shaders are in the skies texture group. as far as like outside maps you might see one of the more experience mappers. i dunno much about it. as far as md3 modesl go. in order to make the model solid you need to place what is known as a clip brush around it. basically create another brush around your bench (i recommend multiple small brushes instead of one large brush for better realism, also so your players don't suddenly float in midair :D) and cover the brush/brushes with the clip texture found in the system shader. clip is a special non-rendered texture that basically prevents the player from entering that space where the clip brush resides. happy mapping and hope i helped!

Search through each individual directory of textures to find a shader that is something_light unless you want to create your own light emitting shader... some of them are harder to find, though.

Like if you want a lit Bespin-type map, apply bespin/sky to the ceiling. Instant light everywhere nearby. Voila.
