Brodieman
SPOILER. SMALL WARNING DO NOT READ UNTIL YOU HAVE SEEN THE MOVIE!!! So it's now 0325 hrs in Melbourne Australia and i have come back from the cinema after watching AotC, it is simply awesome, i love it and i'm going back first thing in the morning. What i want people to discuss in this thread is really open to any thing that happened in AotC. For example my question is - Was the death of Jango Fett good or bad? My answer would be both, it was bad in that he was a brilliant character and fighter, i loved all his scenes (Temuera Morrison rocks) but on the good side you got to see Boba fall to hatred for the Jedi and good, you got to see the formation of a ruthless killer and mighty adversary. So fellow fans discuss away (after you have seen the movie of course!!!)

So fellow fans discuss away (after you have seen the movie of course!!!) Jango's death was too quick. My question is this. I have seen the movie three times and I can't seem to figure out why they brought up the fact that Jango, despite the original of all the clones, has an exact genetic duplicate. Doesn't it make sense that he still exists out there somewhere? Someone help me out with this. I also have a problem with the title. "Attack"?? When do the clones attack?? They defend! I don't think the word "attack" is appropriate until the next film. What do you think?
muh2o
Another question.... The fight scene w/ Yoda and Dooku is clearly the defining moment in the film. Everyone will be talking about it. But what gets me laughing hysterically is watching this amazing lightsaber battle take place, and then at the end, Yoda fetching his walking stick, and walking away like a 150 year old man. WTF??? Don't tell me he exhausted all of his energy on the battle, because he walked in that way. Other than that, this lightsaber duel raises the standard for the battle between Obi-wan and Anakin in the next film. What a classic Star Wars moment. d3vin
yeah, i loved yoda picking up the stick. Especially since he entered the room with Dooku moving as fast as a turtle. And he was so slow walking to Obi-wan and Ani after Dooku was gone
PETEYKing
Why not "USE THE FORCE"? I hav tn see the movie yet so....
Brodieman
Yoda is all about humility, picking up th stick and hobbling along is his way of returning to normalacy. Anyway who would believe that a 2 and a half foot midget could kick so much arse and so comprehensively at that too. @muh2o yes i agree the ionly thing these clones attacked was my hip pocket, and that isn't anything to do with intergalactic warfare. Jango is the original so why aren't the clones exact replicas that can all kick major arse?! it's because cloning isn't perfect and their training is regimented and standardised across the board, hence individual expression and development is actively and heavily discouraged. Of course Boba on the other hand is a genetic clone who is being taught as would a normal developing human child - meaning that he has environmental variance and the direct teachings of the mandalore dogma. valence
First off.. Originally posted by muh2o My question is this. I was so far from impressed... so painfully far from impressed. There is a level of production that no one can scoff at... but the script (i'm not talking the story here, the story is fine) must be the most... emotionless... "been there, done that" script of the MILLENIUM! Nothing about it was fresh or innovative. Yes there were some 'cool' parts... but I have to say that I thought The Phantom Menace's CRAP to COOL RATIO was significantly better. I bought nothing the whole movie... none of the performances were any good... totally not to the fault of the actors... completely to the fault of a washed out script. I hear this stuff about Mace Windu being too dramatic, or not realistic... cripes... I thought he was the best out of the movie. If you loved it, I'm glad... I'm not knocking anyone for liking it... but IMO... it was horrible. Flame me... I want the debate.
GidionTheDead
Well, seeing the shadow of Yoda on the hangar bay floor and hearing the clicking of his walking stick was already too much. The cinema broke into laughter and then came that Jackie Chang pose. Oh, that was ****ing good!
Prowl lightstar
I didn't like the idea of the jedi fighting along side the clone army, it raises certain morality issues. Especially when there's alot of debate goin on in real life to do with cloning. The reason the clones are weaker than jango is because they had accelerated growth. Remember they're only ten years old (like Boba fett who has grown naturally therefore better clone of jango). What i don't get is if Anikin basically knows who jango/boba/clones are, why does he put up with Boba fett giving him cheek in ESB.?
Darth_Lando
To start off, I really liked this movie. I remember seeing TPM and liked it, but had that nagging feeling inside that it should have been better. Not with this one. ON ACTING The acting is better than TPM for starters. Amidala is more relaxed and natural in this role, she doesn't talk in that stuffy, distracting accent she used in TPM. Mcgregor as Obiwan is great, he is mentally fitting Alec Guinuess's role in my mind convincingly. ON THE "BAD" SCRIPT The script however, is like all the other Star Wars scripts. They are cheesy. People who complain about bad Star Wars scripts and lines need to wake up and smell what they have been watching for as long as they have watched Star Wars. Episode 4 through 6 scripts have the same cheesy, no depth lines. We have seen 5 Star Wars films so far all with this problem. Though people only complain about EP1 and EP2 scripts. Please Star Wars fans, when Episode 3 comes out with cheesy lines as well, don't act like you discovered something new that is wrong with the Star Wars movies. Personally, I can look past it as long as they are forgivable. This is a fantasy movie for the young and young at heart, not the bible. ON CHARACTERS I am really starting to get interested in Obiwan's character. He is cool cat. I can't wait to see him in EP3. Dooku, was an interesting character, though you didn't see him much. I like how he comes across as a disenfranchised Jedi but really is a Sith. The weakest actors were IMO Boba Fett and Anikan. Though Anikan had some good acting scenes, some were a bit corny "Obiwan is holding me back! Waaaaa!" Which I would like to bring up the point that Anikan is as much a cry baby as Luke Skywalker, I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree! LOL I really like this movie. It is very different from all the other Star Wars films the way it plays out. I liked how before I saw it a lot of people were saying early reviews of EP2 said the movie was aweful. That helped keep my expectations in check and I was pleasantly surprised. I am seeing this movie again tommorow. My fav Star Wars film is still "Empire Strikes Back", perhaps EP3 may become my fav because it is going to be very dark.
Jedi Marso
Yoda picking up his stick and hobbling along after the fight was a frickin' scream. Everyone in the theater howled just as loudly at that as they did his first appearance, the Jackie Chan pose, and when he lit up his saber. Other fantastic points: 1. The visuals in the beginning with senator's ship flying through the morning mists on Coruscant. Those were some of the best Coruscant visuals yet, as good as the night chase in the speeders. 2. The cloning facility on Kamino seemed reminiscent of THX 1138 to me. Anyone else see the similarity? Loved the production design on it!! 3. Jango Fett vs. Obi-wan. Wow. 4. Anakin is slowly goin' to the dark side, and we have a front row seat, baby! Not so good points: 1. The space battle scenes weren't long enough for me. I would have like to have seen those mini-star destroyers having it out with the Trade Federation battleships in orbit. 2. Mace Windu was bad, but he needed just a few more cool moves. Same with the saber fights between Dooku and the Jedi. 3. Last and most important: Lucas cut way too much GOOD DIALOGUE from the script and left us with the bare bones. The scenes with Padme's family, the trial on Geonosis, and some of the senate stuff should have been left in. Hopefully we'll see it all on the DVD, because the script was better than the cut we have on the big screen. Summary: THIS MOVIE OWNS THE SUMMER. Brodieman
Lucas has always had great story and very average dialogue it merely continues in this movie, but it does have my favourite line of any movie in it......... "Wanna buy some Deathsticks?"
