Voice Commands Mod, speaking instead of pushing "z" or "x" then "f".

Ok, i'm playin' the game. and i'm thinkin', hey, there needs to be a voice command. it would make it easyier for some people who have a hard time, pushing the buttons on the keyboard or joystick, or game pad, or whatever works for the game. For instance, i'm going up against the Reborn. And i am presing F1 and F2 and stuff,a nd lookin' for the push force power, as he grips me. now, i was just thinkin', if he grips me and i say "push" the micraphone picks it up and then, poof he pushes. i think that might be alot easier for some people. I don't know about other people, but i'd love to have that! it would, for me, give more fun to playing the game.

Also, if you are a Jedi, why do you need to aim force? how about this, putting numbers over the enemies so you can say.. "Push Storm Trooper 1" and then that Storm Trooper would be pushed. Now, if you don't do it, or somthin', or if it would take to much time, how can i do somthin' like that? i would love to do that, i have lots of time. It would, of course work for multiplayer. It would be a new thing for the gamming world, kinda. They ahve it for other games, but its mostly chat things, not commands. Wich is dissapointing. It could be the first Star Wars game to ever do somthing like that. Dont'cha think?

You must be truely new to the gaming world dude.... I am not gonna insult you ... which I prob should. But Consider what u just said... using voice commands LOL. I have a better Idea...It's called HOT KEYS. Go bind your keys so they are easy to hit and close by .... It's a hell of a lot faster to hit a key than to say something into a mic which has a delay time and in a skilled game you would be dead before the words came out of your mouth. Try this

Base your keys around

WSAD or EDSF

then bind the surrounding keys

to other functions : here is my setup ....

WSAD =forward/back/right/left

E=speed

R = pull

v=push

F= grip or absorb or team energize...whatever force u play with

G = seeing

T=Drain

Left ctrl= Gun 1

2=gun2

3= gun 3

RIght click = jump

left click = fire

Space bar = secondary fire

shift = bacta

Get the freeking point ...Bind your damn keys ...For chirsts sake its not that hard... and stop thinking of outlandsih ideas like "voice command"

Raven I am glad to see the type of ppl you take suggestions from...I see now why your patch is so Fuked ....Tools

I think this is a good idea, tho not unique. Lots of gamers would love to have this in many games. It's actually out there, as the above link shows, but A.K. has a point, it's slow. Not effective in a heated fight. Great for changing weapons while on the run, or switching, say, saber stance.

Microsoft (shudder) GameVoice also has this feature, tho you have to buy the full hardware version. It's a game chat/voice command unit.

http://www.gamevoice.com

GameVoice does create profiles for games now and then, tho I noticed that the shareware version (which does not have VR) is more popular.

There's a thread collecting suggestions for the developers. See it on the main feedback forum. We need all the positive, non-flamable support possible in there.

i play these games all the time. and i'm not a tottal Newbie. I think it would be a great addition, and i know there is a delay, but thats only on slow computers. And the sound of your voice vibrates faster then a hand or eye movement and even a computer game.

and my keyboard is centered on wasd, i keep it as is. but Raven as i can see on posts, screwed up JO enoug as it is. i never complaine about gettin' my ass kicked once. i am sayin', for Newbies, it might be easyer, espicaly for people who might have a mild dissorder like i. and i understand everyone has one, but not everyone has what i have. See, "AssKicker", if you can actualy do that, they need to amke games more enjoyable, so i said somthin' that might be more enjoyable. For people who can't work around things as easly as some other people, i think that takes away from the game when you have someone who can do force push then pull, then grip you while you are in the air, and you're tryin' to get the right button to push someone so there grip doesn't work. and your jabbi'n the keys and nothin' is happenin', i know i poste somthin' similar and tottaly comply oppisite of what i just said in another post, but some people need extra help, and some don't.

Hi Dax,

Sound to me like the short explanation of what you're saying is that you want the option to use voice commands in the game. I hear ya all the way on that one! I did post in another thread that it can be difficult to make a game accessible for people (like myself also) who have some challenges or disabilities, but it sounds that in your case, addiing something simple, like voice commands would go a long way. If that's the case, and it can open up the game to people with mild motor control, dyslexia, or any other condition so they can play the game fairly and easily, thus enjoying the game as well, I'm all for it. Heck, it would be a new group to market the game to!

Unfortunately, it's not so easy for me. I await JK2 in braille! *laugh* Okay, MAYBE not!

currently using game commander 2. Ive been using it for over a year and I use it on all my games. on JK2 I have it set up to bring up different weapons and using force. sometimes it picks up game sounds from my headphones & queues a command when it shouldnt but that can be adjusted out.
