v5planet
Okay, this is my first time using radiant. I've had some experience with worldcraft, so the shift wasn't so terribly difficult, but I've apparently screwed up somewhere along the line. My map as it stands now is demonstrating some very bizarre behavior. Since the first compile, certain brushes create a trudging through water sound effect when walked upon. This is not isolated to any particular brush or I would've remade it earlier...Some new brushes continue to do this, with no particular pattern as to why evident..... When I compile, as well, occasionally a surface will display a texture that was not applied to it, or show a texture that was previously applied, and since changed. Finally....I've got some glass on my map. Not breakable glass, just a few structural brushes with a glass texture applied...Now, they form spokes around a cylindrical brush, and when compiled half of the glass-textured brushes, and which ones it is changes upon each compile, these brushes will not render any surfaces below themselves. anybody know what's wrong? Here's a screenshot of what I mean: http://www.planettribes.com/newbase/hyperspace.jpg Notice the glass to the left of the screen renders nothing below itself. Any help in fixing these problems would be greatly appreciated because I have no idea what prompted them.

Apparently, something weird is going on. Check the suggestions in this thread. http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=55106 Originally posted by v5planet When I compile, as well, occasionally a surface will display a texture that was not applied to it, or show a texture that was previously applied, and since changed. Some textures have shaders associated with them. Shaders are basically short scripts which are used by the engine to apply some special effects to the texture such as transparency, light emissions etc. The point is, that some textures might look/behave differently in the game than in Radiant. If you see a white outline (or was it green?? darn, I forget ) around the texture in the texture view window, this textures has shader. You can shift+click on the texture to open the shader which goes with it. It's always better to see what shader does. Now, I am not 100% that this what's causing your problems. Just a guess.
