Banfi
When I place a clip texture to block an area off, instead of the clip texture being see-through, it is a black and white texture in the game. Also, when I try to place a ladder texture infront of something to make it climbable, it just makes the same white texture, not climbable. Thanks for any help you can give. Cmdr. Antilles
Make sure you're applying the actual shader to the brush, and not the texture itself. The clip and ladder SHADERS should have a white outline around them in the texture browser. Use those.
Banfi
sorry for my newbie-ness but what is the directory name for the clip and ladder shaders, such as skies/yavin. Also, the Water shader name would be appreciated
Cmdr. Antilles
'system'
Banfi
but isn't system/clip just the normal texture? if so, whats the full name for the Clip/ladder shaders. (btw thanks, I'm very new to mapping)
Cmdr. Antilles
No, the full names for the shaders are 'system/clip' and 'system/ladder' I just want you to make sure that you're using the ones w/ the white outlines around it. Just on the off chance that that's causing your problem.
FlashFearless
Has anybody gottent he ladder shader to actually work? I don't remember there being any ladders in the game
Cmdr. Antilles
I tried it, but it didn't seem to work. I dunno why they included it it if it didn't work. I think it's screwed up because of the force jump...
Banfi
I don't have a shader called clip with a white outline around it, just the texture. I've got show shaders ticked and clicked "reload shaders" but its not there :S
UniKorn
Do not forget that the ladder brush must be big enough to allow the player to go INSIDE of it. Otherwise he won't be able to use it.

Cmdr. Antilles
Just select your brush, bring up the surface editor, and manually type in 'system/clip' or 'system/ladder' for the surface. Those are the correct names, and they should work even if you don't see any textures.
