Guest gschilling Posted December 11, 2000 Share Posted December 11, 2000 Has anyone had any problems with DirectX 8.0? Ever since I installed it, the game crashes when I load missions. Okay, is there a patch for this game? (check www.lucasarts.com ) Do you have the latest drivers for your video card? Did you try reinstalling Racer on your machine after upgrading to DX 8.0? What version of Windows are you using? (and did you install the version of DX8.0 that was for your version of Windows?) Once we know that info, perhaps we can help you. (maybe there needs to be one !!) 2.) I definitely have the latest drivers for my Elsa Erazor X card. 3.) I did not try reinstalling after DX8.0 was installed. Should this make a difference? 4.) I am using Windows98, and I did use the correct DX8.0 file for this. I find it really weird that when I use DirectX Buster to go back to DX7.0a, the game works fine. I will try reinstalling game. Guest Kurgan Posted December 12, 2000 Share Posted December 12, 2000 Well I myself have not yet "upgraded" to DX8, so I was curious about the results myself. I have Racer, just not installed right now. Try reinstalling it... sometimes that works for many people. I dunno why. Give it a go...
