aazell
Hi all I'm finally getting my head round this whole mapping thing. I'd like to begin creating some SP maps for all you lucky people but most of the tuts I've found are for Q3A and don't really mention SP. Can anyone reccommend an SP tutorial they've found??? thanks Aaz
GidionTheDead
Actually it is quite easy. Open project settings (task bar) and set entities to ".../sp_entities". Now close and reload Radiant. Place an "info_player_start" for the level start and a "trigger_once" + "target_levelchange" for the level end. Voila, you're done. Bot's come with the basic AI, but more advanced behaviour will need the setting of waypoints and such. You can get my SP_Bespin and SP_FloatingSith maps from JediOutcastMaps.com. Both zip files have the original map file and thus can show you, how to do a basic map (Bespin didn't take more than 30 minutes for editing and less than a minute for compiling). Remember to set entities to SP! (The SP_Bespin map uses a "target_print" for a secret instead of a "target_secret", in case you wonder. I am too lazy to fix that.) Happy mapping. Gidion, a.k.a. aazell
Thanks for this Gideon. I've actually got most of this down already now. It's amazing what a Saturday with nothing to do can achieve. I am having a few problems importing models into the editor. I've followed the tutorial to the letter and yet nowt appears. I had to copy the Imp Shuttle from the Kejim map. How embarrasing! I created my Misc-Model entity, Navigate to the right file. Hit OK Change the path so that it just reads with the folders under the base directory. Hit the space bar which is supposed to create a copy of the model that looks like the wireframe. But nothing happens. Is it a bit different in JKRadient?
