Wired Lamp CTF pack teaser

These look awesome, but i'd second the comment above.

Most CTFers are either Tribes or UT players. Those games revolve around more outdoor settings, with limited (but critical) choke points.

These maps look awesome, and I hope a real jk2 ctf mapping scene emerges.

I personally think JK2 is designed for smaller dueling and LARGE SCALE ctf.

The CTF maps included with the game are way too quake-ish and have too much death-by-push/pull.

Sadly, most of the gamers I know who loved JK2 got bored with it almost instantly because they are from UT/t2 and they need more stimulating team stuff. The jk2 community is now currently mostly DMers, which is very unfortunate (i find it terribly boring).

So, i am SO EXCITED to see these new CTF maps.

I just personally want to see somebody do a really professional job with 1-2 large scale ctf maps designed for 24-32 people.

Look at outdoor maps from UT like Breathe and TwinValleys. Those designs are fantastic, and there are endless Jedi variations that can really work.

There is no reason that the gamers who want larger scale teamplay should have to wait until Star Wars Galaxies comes out.

:D

I haven't played Unreal Tournament yet, but how big are those maps? I suppose they're bigger than Q3's ones, but what about Team Arena? The problem with the Q3 engine is, that outdoor levels aren't that well supported and to combine both indoor AND outdoor environments in one map is rather difficult.

My CTF map is rather large (at least I think so at the moment, but there were also times I thought I'll become too small) and I *think* 16 players will be just fine on that map. At least I hope so...

Yeah, the quake engine is mainly for indoor corridor type fighting, that is what it was designed for. The terrain editor for the upcoming unreal 2 is easier, and faster, to get good, smooth looking terrain. The main fightning area for my ctf map is very large... but i heard that is what people wanted was a large area for quite a few people. I optimised the heck out of it, to the best of my ability. Hinting on such a large map is almost impossible. If anyone can provide me some hint tips for large maps, it would begreatly appriciated

:max:
