Noob question about add ons

Regarding mods (not full conversions, but things like updated moves), skins and models, what happens if I join a server as the only person with these additions installed?

 

1) Will other players see my changes or will they exist solely on the client side?

 

I would assume they would be client side only, but I have to wonder.

 

2) assuming it is client side, what would others see if I chose to use an entirely new model? A skin would revert to the original used, right? A model, on the otherhand, has no compliment.
