Cosmas
If the Jedi counsel is so great, why cant they sence the dark side on Chancellor Palpatine, or be able to locate Darth Sidious when he's not a few buildings away???
te necabo
The darkside is very elusive and clouds everything. I believe it is the diary of Darth Maul that actually mentions this a bit. The sith are very good at concealing their power and it talks about how darth sidious would take maul to the entrance of the temple to point out certain jedi and show how well they were hid from the jedi, he said they just couldn't get too close and go inside the temple. Now in Episode 2 they're in the same room. Well first, it is a very chaotic and histerical time in the republic and even the jedi are destractable. They could have simply not been focused enough to sense it, because believe me they'd need to be very focused. Second, Mace himself mentions to Yoda that the jedi and especially the jedi council are having trouble seeing anything anymore and they power in the force is deminishing, he was even considering announcing to the senate which means it was very serious. DarthNoodles
At other times, Jedi have ben able to sense Sith. Luke sensed Vader when approaching a Super Star Destroyer (i think that's what it was) in ROTJ. Vader could sense Obi Wan in ANH, Obi Wan may have been able to sense Vader (not sure on that one). Why didn't Obi Wan and Dooku sense each other when they almost met on Geonosis?
CoRDS
i think yoda knows whats happening, thats why he saves anakin, i have a feeling that yoda knows palpy is evil blah blah blah, but knows that it will all balance. esp when palpy finishes off padme's sentance and gives him a nasty look (asif he senced the use of the force) trust in yoda you will
Guest HertogJan
That's a good question, why didn't Douku sense Obi-Wan when Obi was listening to them?

I can't remember it now. Perhaps Yoda didn't like the effect of the sentence not the fact that Palpatine finished it. The bigger question for me is: When Yoda says at the end that the shroud/cloak (don't remember his choice of words) of the Dark Side has fallen, does that mean that they may be able to sense more of teh goings on of Palpatine/Dooku? Does it mean things will be in the open from the get go of EP3? If this is a strong possiblilty then the entire film of EP3 will have the Jedi fighting the Chancellor/Emperor. Thoughts... Cope
well most likely the reason dooku didnt do anything about obi-wan was b/c it was to all fall into a plan. atleats thats my opinion. He prolly sinced him but didnt do anything b/c it all played out in the overall plan. And i think yoda knows more than hes saying.
