Saa-Tom Tah Posted May 22, 2002 Posted May 22, 2002 Okie, I've started building my second sp map for JK2. You might know me from The Base level I've already done something and here's a shot of it.
Takeoffyouhoser Posted May 22, 2002 Posted May 22, 2002 Thats a pretty cool shot of a courtyard!! I am NOT good at making city like stuff. My map is going to be outdoors and underground...lol
DannyJAllTheWay Posted May 22, 2002 Posted May 22, 2002 That looks pretty sweet I must admit. Though, one thing that I hope you do differently then the Base map is that you include more saber duels. Otherwise, I'm sure this map will be good.
RichDiesal Posted May 23, 2002 Posted May 23, 2002 And don't throw more than 2 saber-wielding enemies at the player at any one time. That's just no fun.
DannyJAllTheWay Posted May 23, 2002 Posted May 23, 2002 Whoa, whoa. Richdiesal, You sure about that. I think it's better to have multiple enemies at a time. Facing one reborn at a time would become boring. I think that having more than one enemy at a time is better. Especially if they are two different types like a reborn and a shadowtrooper.
RichDiesal Posted May 24, 2002 Posted May 24, 2002 That's just silly... the fun of saber battles is facing one or two foes and defeating them gracefully... if you're just being chased by six or seven reborn, that's just silly... it becomes more of a "video game" than a "saber fight simulator" which is how I prefer to play it. You don't play duel_ maps, do you?
DannyJAllTheWay Posted May 24, 2002 Posted May 24, 2002 All I do is play duel maps. Sabers only with no force or basic force. But that's online, where you play different people. This way, you get unique saber fights. With the bots, the saber fights get tiring cuz it's mainly the same thing over again. I love duels. The multiple enemies make it harder and more unique. Oh, well. That's just IMO.
RichDiesal Posted May 24, 2002 Posted May 24, 2002 Pfft, you just have no appreciation for the finesse of a lightsaber.
D.L. Posted May 24, 2002 Posted May 24, 2002 If I'm bored, I spawn about 10 reborn and kick their asses.
Daexiar Posted May 24, 2002 Posted May 24, 2002 Just a small question, what is an ancient jedi statue doing in Bespin?

Daexiar Posted May 24, 2002 Posted May 24, 2002 Originally posted by D.L. ummm, Lando collected fine art!? Don't think massive ancient jedi statues are exactly like art
aazell Posted May 24, 2002 Posted May 24, 2002 I've mapped a pretty good bespin landing platform if you want it. It's a shame that the Imp shuttle model doesn't have the wing folding animation. That would look so cool taking off from the platform I mapped. Let me know if you want to take a look. thanks aaz
normal Posted May 24, 2002 Posted May 24, 2002 Originally posted by Daexiar Don't think massive ancient jedi statues are exactly like art That's like considering Mount Rushmore in the US isn't art.
Epimetheus Posted May 25, 2002 Posted May 25, 2002 Obviously, at the end of JK, Kyle carves the statues, then he just cuts them down. Then he, with help from Jan, lug it out of the Valley of the Jedi, strap it onto the tiny little Moldy Crow, and fly through space with it strapped onto the hood with bungee cords. Duh.
Yom Posted May 25, 2002 Posted May 25, 2002 lol thanx Epimetheus it all makes sense to me now thanx agin Yom
Demolisher Posted May 26, 2002 Posted May 26, 2002 Which base level did you make? Either way, I wanted to say that they both rock! The short and sweet base level with the reborns at the beginning is really fun, but fighting Tavion while being shot at is kinda tough. The imp base level is so awesome, it feels like a level that would've came with the game; needs force pull and heal level 3 though. Looking forward to more good single player levels. Some of the single player levels aren't as good as the two base levels; they all have too many enemies all at once.
Verlex Posted May 26, 2002 Posted May 26, 2002 I am stil waiting for a DS escape single player level where literal SWARMS of storm troopers are chasing you down. So many troopers that the DS is to small to hold em all!!!! THAT'd be cool.
ShadowCell Posted May 27, 2002 Posted May 27, 2002 I do that all the time. Spawn a zillion or so Stormtroopers and then run. The only problem is if they box me in a corner, nothing will block trillions of little laser bolts all at once.
Cunnah Posted May 27, 2002 Posted May 27, 2002 just set the force to level 5 spawn a zillion stormies wait till they surround you then lol when they all die in one giany zap when they open fire upon your saber its got the same effect as when the forces of evil die at the biggining of the lord of the rings
