Spyque64
VERY new to mapping. Working with GtkRadiant for JK2. My question- When adding misc_model ___.md3 files (like trees, plants or an X-Wing) HOW do you make the models solid?? Its really lame to walk through a tree or a Tie Fighter like it was vapor. Also some of my .md3 files (like any of them with the _b after its name) load with missing shaders and I cant get any texture to be applied. Any help on these 2 questions? TIA Spyque
patchx
you need to make a brush the same size and shape as the model and texture it with the clip texture then put it in the exact position as the model what happened with the missing textures did they not show up in game or in the editor? also what plant did u use and did the plant section of it how up in game or just the pot? -patch
Spyque64
"texture it with the clip texture" Ok, how do you actually do that?? Im really really new. I got the trees to show up, and have a nice looking forest, but its like all the trees and plants are ghosts. I can walk right through them. Plants-ok, but Trees- seems kinda "wrong". (tried to make an x-wing in a hangar map and the same thing. x-wing is like a ghost) Also the plant model showed up in the editor as a red and black checkerboard with "shader missing" written on it. The ones I am trying to use are the grass_tall_b.md3 (and others) in the /base/models/map_objects/yavin folder
RichDiesal
Just make a regular ole brush and apply the system/clip texture to it like you would apply any other texture...
