The Game won't start

Whenever I try to play Jedi Knight II it won't get past the little window that pops up at the beginning which displays this message:

JK2: v1.03 win-x86 May 3 2002

Initialising zone memory .....

----- FS_Startup -----

Current search path:

C:\games\jedi2\GameData\base\assets2.pk3 (289 files)

C:\games\jedi2\GameData\base\assets1.pk3 (8011 files)

C:\games\jedi2\GameData\base\assets0.pk3 (6674 files)

C:\games\jedi2\GameData/base

----------------------

14974 files in pk3 files

Running in restricted demo mode.

----- FS_Startup -----

Current search path:

C:\games\jedi2\GameData/demo

----------------------

14974 files in pk3 files

Couldn't load default.cfg

Evidently the game seems to think that it is the demo for some reason. At first i thought that the game was incompatible with the demo, which i had installed previously, but when i uninstalled the demo and reinstalled jk2 I get the same message.

BTW, the demo seems to runs fine, its just the full game that wont go.

Does anyone have any idea whats wrong?

I had just the same problem; sometimes also I'd get errors starting jk2sp.exe on the HD like "cannot find MSVFW32.dll" or cannot find / read / load CON_TXT, or something to that effect. Sorry, it's been a while since I forked with it at all. Months ago a LucasArts techsupport dude told me to run MSCONFIG, remove the check that loads everything on startup (making it a selective startup), reboot, and THEN install. I didn't see any change in results though. I guess we just have to call them on the phone and hope they can walk us through it all.
