force speed troubles

Hi everyone,

 

force speed seems to be having issues for me... running straight forward simply doesn't get there.

 

strafing (left or right) goes MUCH faster and I was able to get past the initial test with the doors by running sideways.

 

the later test - jumping from the sliding beam into the open doorway above is just impossible trying to do it sideways.

 

if I go forward the beam is completely across the entrance before I even get there - even when the beam is coming from the left.

 

is there a 'sprint' beyond normal run like in previous games? am i missing something?

i think i found the problem, but i still don't have a solution. the "run" speed of the character when using the joystick is about half when using a forward command from the keyboard.

 

any idea why that is or how to fix it? I can't seem to find a setting that would accomplish that one.
