The Chimera
Hey, I'm kinda a Star Fox fan, and I was wandering if someone could make a model of Fox McCloud. If you need reference, check out nintendo.com and look for the games Super Smash Bros. Melee or Star Fox Adventures (both are gamecube games) and take a look at the artwork and screenshots. If you will do this model for me, reply back. Thanks!
The Chimera
Oh, if you can, could you make a model of his blaster that replaces the Briar or whatever Kyle's gun is? If you have any comment at all,(about the Fox or gun models) please reply. Thanks!
Darth Matrix
Why don't you try making one for yourself? They're are many modeling resources around if you just look. Also, most people don't do requests, since they prefer going about and doing something they prefer btw, Fox stinks in SSBM. Marth is better. Bwahahahahah! The Chimera
Ok, ok. Marth is pretty good(especially trying to beat him on level 9). Anyway, I'll try to make the models, all I really need now (if I can accoplish modeling them) are skinners. I can't do a thing in artistic stuff, so if anyone here is good at coloring and blending colors (Fox IS pretty complex when it comes to coloring) just say so. I finally have GMax so hopefully I can start on the model pretty quick. Oh, if you know a way to color the model with the program (GMax) then tell me that, too. -EDIT- Ok, I just went over to check out my GMax program, and went to tutorials. When I opened it, a model poped up BUT NO WORDS ON HOW TO MAKE IT! So, If anyone knows where I can find a step by step WORD tutorial, then please tell me. Epimetheus
How nice it would be to cut Falco in two... Annoying bird! I am the great Leon!
The Chimera
If I can actually learn to model, I'm seriously thinking about making everyone, Star Fox and Star Wolf teams both! I just need a darn tutorial and some pictures of everyone (other than Fox, I've got him covered). -EDIT- Ok, FINALLY I have the tutorials and I'm starting to learn how to use the program. Now all I need are pictures of everyone!!

The Chimera
Ok, I just realized something. Fox has a lot of fur...AND I DON'T KNOW HOW TO MAKE THAT!! If ANYONE knows how to make fur (with GMax or a plug-in for GMax) TELL ME!!

The Chimera
Ok, one quick question. I've been using GMax (which is taking FOREVER to learn how to use!) to create the model, but I'm eventualy going to have to animate him. I've read some posts about softimage and they say it's better to use for animation. What I need to know is if GMax is better or if I should download softimage (if i can) for new animations. Oobedoob Benobi
hehehe i think softimage is a very expensive program that you have to buy so GMax is most likely your best bet.
Darth Matrix
Don't worry about the animatons. Spacemonkey has a tutorial (can someone find it for Chimera? I have no idea where the tut is) on how to apply the model to the standard player skeleton. That will get your character in game and animated (with the standard JO animations, of course). The Chimera
Well Darth Matrix, the only real thing I'm worried about for the animations is Fox's tail. It will just stick out like a piece of wood...but if you can find that tutorial for me, or whoever does, THANK YOU! P.S. Is there a way to add animations to the custom ones? Klorel
Now wouldn't the super smash bros. characters be really cool in JO. i mean, they do use "beam swords" already, they'd fit right in. Someone could even make a duel pack with the SSBM arenas. I actually prefer Bowser and Ness, but thats a topic for a different forum. I think the fox and wolf teams would be awesome. I wouldn't mind trying to skin fox, as soon as my mace is done that is. My problem is that i'm stuck in the part after modeling and before skinning. skinning is where my real talent lies..... too bad i cant skip the middle part. But if anyone makes a fox model, expect that you will probably see a skin for it from me. unless someone makes one first that im satisfied with. good luck "she touched my Peppy" ~multiplicity
Oobedoob Benobi
I think the only way you can add custom animations is with softimage.
The Chimera
Hey Klorel, if I actually make the Fox model, your more than welcome to skin it! I'm sure not gonna do it...
The Chimera
DANGIT! Ok, your not gonna believe this, but my GMax has something WRONG with it! I was going to open up and continue the character creating tutorial, when my computer FROSE! I restarted and tryed it again....IT FROSE! So, until this is fixed, I can't work on the model! I'll try to fix it as quick as I can, I may even have to re-install the whole thing . I'll tell you when I get it fixed...

malinkie
If your not bothered by spending a couple of bucks (i mean around 40) then 'Moedelling a Character in 3DS Max by Pal Steed' is a really great book. Step by step from Character Design to UVMapping. Its really easy when you have a reference
The Chimera
The tutorial I have runs in GMax (my modeling program) so to use this tutorial, you NEED GMax. http://www.discreet.com/products/gmax/gmaxconsumer/ Once you open this up, click on the downloads button to the left and scroll down untill you find them. (It talks a LOT about the stuff before it gets to the downloads) If this link doesn't work, then go to http://www.discreet.com, then select 'products' at the top, then in the 'select products' thingy, scroll down to 'gmax', then look to the left and click 'gmax(free version)', THEN select the 'downloads' on the left and there you are. Hope you find your download!
