GCrusher23
I'm making a map based on exact measurements. Does anyone know where I can find information on how big one pixel in jk2 radiant is compared to one inch? For example, an 1/8 of an inch is equivalent to 6 feet of real length. If there are 49 1/8 inches, that means I'll need 294 1/8 inches to create the length of the the room I'm making. So how many pixels is that in jk2 radiant? Xcom
Maybe this will help: http://www.qeradiant.com/manual/Q3Rad_Manual/appndx/appn_c.htm#mapinfo
Xzzy
radiant doesn't really work in terms of pixels, as in the dots that make up a normal computer image. at any rate, you can get an approximation by looking at how tall an info_player_start entity is in radiant. It just so happens to be 56 units. This box fairly closely matches the average size of a player character in game, and if you assume the average height of a grown man is 5 feet 10 inches, that would suggest that 56 units is a little under 6 feet of space. Or a single unit is 0.8 inches. Don't make your map based on real world dimensions though, try to use units in powers of two. This will make your texturing later much, much easier. fabrikashon
Everything on your computer screen has some kind of relation to pixels. In radiants case, it judges the size of grid blocks. Using the standard 16x16 blocks, equates to units of 64 pixels. It's easy to test, just use a texture that is 256x256 pixels and see how large it becomes once the full texture is shown on the brush.
