Endwaith
Hi, I have made several demo recordings of multiplayer games, unfortunately the file format that JK2 puts the demo files in is unreadable by any program I have. Does anyone know how to playback the demos, and more importantly, how I can convert those files to .avi, or even to extract them to a series of .bmp files, or ANYTHING that is readable by a program other than JK2. My ultimate goal in doing this is to put together a sort of highlight film of JK2 multiplayer battles. Thanks Endwaith

Invidiosulus
Hi, normally when a game saves a demo recording it usually saves it not as movie format(.mov .avi .divx .flc etc) but as a sort of a script file that records everyones movement, shots fired etc. So what you are actually seeing is an OpenGL rendering of your match just as if you were playing the game. Some video cards have a tv out jack on the back next to the monitor output. It should be possible to plug that into a vhs recorder or a video camera provided it has the right connections. Or if you had a video capture card you could record video back onto your hardrive. Anyway I don't think there really is an easy way to make a gameplay movie without some serious time effort and equipment, although it sure would be cool. I hope you can work something out . Peace, the little envious one.
DragomanJK
There is a program called SnagIt, the people that make that make a Video recording thing, and that is supposed to be god. However, it takes alot of power to take even 800x600 frames, then you add the game running... The game may run pretty slow, but that's the easiest way I know of.
