Repper
it's part of an elaborate string of a kind of bread crumb trail left by a certain columbian drug lord (who shall remain nameless) so that certain would be buyers who have followed the bread crumb trail from error messages from other games would know who to correctly ask for. This is so they know that they arent cops or fbi or anything like that. however you have now pubicly posted this error message ruining this numberless year long strand, and im sure the cartel will want revenge as they do not take these kinds of insults lightly. if i were you i would unregister my screen name as fast as possible and disconnect form the internet and discard the computer in an empty lot some miles from your residence as the cartel are going to use all of their resources to track you down through the internet. good luck. heh sorry, actually i have no idea what it means but i hope smebodyy who does will post a response. maybe you should try posting this in the technical help area. yrean
ok yes. you have a big problem Uh, my compiler told me to speak with John Carmack, do you know his number? It means something is really, really wrong, and Radiant is telling you to see the boss. To find out your specific problem load the map and you will be getting booted, take note of your error message. posted in the sticky at the top of the page. contact raven technical support or try to backup your map file and reinstall radient... if that doesnt help make a small box room and compile and play....if the small box room work.s.. its probably a big problem with your map..and this might mean starting from scratch...at any rate you should contact THE BOSS immediatly. Sorry to the bearer of bad news...Y
Hubris
The error message when you load the map gives you an indication of what is wrong. Then reference that with the links I posted in the FAQ and you should have your map operational again in no time.
Machine_IX
Before I say anything else let me just say that Hubris your JK2 Radiant FAQ sticky is a very useful resource. It's helped me enormouly. My problem was a little diffrent to the one in your sticky though. In your sticky the error message involves a guy called "John Carmack" where as mine was asking for "john or Rick" Maybe the same john, definately a different error message. The error message came up in the compile log NOT when I tried to load my map. It came up in the first process: BSP and halted it, no .BSP no nothing, just my somehow screwed .MAP. I searched google for the error message and got ONE hit: http://forums.massassi.net/html/Forum17/HTML/000387.html This guy got the same error, but in a different place. In VIS. I fixed MY problem by replaceing a BAD TEXTURE. I had modified a texture by removing it's colour map in photoshop as I wanted it in black and white. After I replaced the texture using [r]textures>find/replace...[/r] Everything was fine. Posted this just for completeness's sake. You might want to put this in your sticky Hubris, but I don't know if the problem is common enough to warrant it. I also don't know if the same fix would work for the guy with the problem in VIS. simarilius
was struggling with the same error yesterday, it writes it to junk.txt and leaves you with no clue whats the problem is. I tracked it down to a greycale jpeg in the end as well, took me a while to work it out tho.
