Hey fellas.

Hope you can help me with this.. I REALLY want to play JKII.

I have an original disk, but it won't install the game on my PC..

it gets to 86% install everytime.. and then says it can't find 'data3.cab' on 'disc 0'..

wtf is going on?? there is no data3.cab on the disc at all.. only data1.cab and data2.cab - is that the normal thing.? and if so, what's the deal with it asking for data3.cab?

I'm running win98se on an XP1700+ - 256 ram.. my PC ought to be up to specs.. ..but so far no saber action..

Hope someone has some ideas about this..

thanks in advance..

There's only two things I can think of that would give you this problem:

1. a corrupted or "bad" JK2 CD.

2. your "older" CD drive is unable to read the "new" JK2 CD.

And I would guess that the odds of the second being true are MUCH greater.

You could:

1. Exchange the game to get a new CD and see if it works.

2. Try copying the contents of your JK2 CD to your hard drive and try installing from there.

3. Try installing JK2 with your original CD on a different PC - which would have a different CD/DVD/CD-RW drive in it.

If none of these options (or only option 3) works, it may be that your CD drive will never be able to read thru the copy protection of the JK2 CD - which could only be solved by buying a new DVD-Rom or CD-RW drive - don't bother buying another plain CD-Rom drive as there's a good chance it wouldn't work either. Good luck!
