jibe
How do I do this with max without compromising the integrity of my model? Also.. is there a tool that closes gaps, etc in faces (I don't want to do it manually =/) Thanks -jibe
Madjai
if you mean 3dsmax there are scripts out there that can do it without making you model look all squished for gmax, youll just have to try foolin around with the optimize setting under modifiers or manually optimize it, collapsing verts and such. its always best to do things manually because you make sure its done right the first time, not all programs do what you want perfectly. and the "triangles" are called faces or polys. jibe
Yeah, 3dsmax.. where would I find a script like that? I keep getting an error when I try to put my saber model ingame that says I have "too many verts on a surface" or somesuch. I have no idea how to fix it =/
Madjai
i got that error once too, what i did was select all the verts and weld them together with a selection of .01, so it only welds the ones that are doubled over or something. its that or your saber model has got way too many polys, check the polys with the poly counter under utilities
