Cairn Reactor sideways elevator

I'm stuck in the cairn reactor level where you get on the sideways elevator thing which goes around the edge and blows up halfway round.

How do I get past this?

Do I have to shoot the guys shooting at me before they destroy the elevator thing or do I have to jump off before it blows up and jump around the rest of the way?

The floating platform will crash no matter what, even if you kill the stormtroopers before they get you. You'll have to jump on to the side ledges before it blows. You can stop the rockets by either sniping the stormies or using force push on the rockets to deflect them.

you just jump on those things where the elevator is driving and than fast jump forward that they dont shoot you.

I jumped off the elevator before they can see me so I saved and just jumped on this holders for the elevator.

yeah I did the same... jump out of the lift soon and use your disruptor to pick off the rocket firing stormies.. then just jump from ledge to ledge..

I lost almost all my weapons when i met with Luke on Cairn. I am now at the moving platform and don't have the disruptor to snipe at the stormtroopers. I am starting to think it was a glitch. Has anyone else had that happen to them?

Actually... there's no need to even use the lift... just jump on the platforms at the beginning and you won't even have to fight any of the troopers....

if you can't jump fast enough, or keep running out of force power then getting shot off the side, just stand still and push the rockets back.
