Shawny Posted June 6, 2002 Posted June 6, 2002 I cant find the last thread I started and since the search function doesn't work I wll humbley ask you guys once more. I have finished half of my models chest, Now I want to mirror it and weld the two sides together. How do you do this? I can weld verts that are on the same half but I cant weld verts from a different model. Any info would help.
Madjai Posted June 6, 2002 Posted June 6, 2002 attach the second half of you model to the first with the Attach button under modifiers, then weld away.

I clicked on one half of the model clicked attach, then I clicked the other half of the model nothing happened, in fact it wont let me click on anything while the attach button is down. So what am I doing wrong? I did learn how to collapse verts though, very useful.
Madjai Posted June 7, 2002 Posted June 7, 2002 maybe because its a reference, like a mirror. try deleting the mirror, clone the one half, then mirror it, then attach. it sounds like what your doing is right, with the attach button.

V!G Posted June 7, 2002 Posted June 7, 2002 I think that is what the problem is. You can't attach a referace to anything. I had that same problem when I first started, and that is what I did to fix it. Just remeber if you have been using the mirror ref trick to build your model, and now you delete the ref and make a copy, you will have to change both sides. So welding the two pieces should be the last thing you do before skinning V!G
