Seeking Beta Testers for Stats Generator

Greetings all,

Me and Fnord have put together a stats generation package for our server (http://www.sneakybuffalo.com/jkii). The presentation layer (which is what Fnord is working on) is still a work in progress, but the parser (me) is basically done.

If you:

(*) run a server

(*) have access to php

(*) have access to mysql

and:

(*) are interested in providing feedback on a stats generation program.

Please feel free to let me know? I'm looking for a handful of people who'd be willing to give this a run around the block. The package is very specifically designed to be a 'base install' where capable Perl programmers can add new data database tables, etc. etc. should the have some other whizzy feature they'd like to add to their stats.

Remember -- if you go /look/ at our stats we're still refining how we want to present the data on our own site.

Thanks.

Yes!

We intend to make it braindead to set up and maintain.. but that's part of the beta test desires. It's easy for me to set it up in both of the environments I have (which are, fundamentally the same damn version of Linux) but I'd like a broader exposure so I get a better idea of what's less easy. :)

The answer is:

eventually.

=)

i'm sure as hell interested but where to get it?

and how does it work? the problem is: i don't have the possibility to install it on the game server yet, and i don't know how to syncronize the server log with the one on my hd without downloading the whole thing, and it gets quit big after a week.

Ah, there's no download option yet because it's not truly released. :) If you haven't provided an email address already, please pop me a note at falryx@midgardweekly.com and I'd be happy to get stuff to you.

It may take me a few days to provide some basic documentation so it's not a complete mystery how to configure the DB, etc. But I'll definitely get it to y'all and am curious about the feedback!

Anyway... I've got sh1ny's address noted... send me your address if you haven't posted it and are interested.

Thanks everyone!

I am very interested in testing your stats program. I am running a Jedi Knight II tourney at our lanparty in a couple of weeks. The game itself will be running on a win2000 advanced server box. But i have both sql v7.0 and php installed on another box running SuSE 7.3 which i would use to run the stats anyway.

Please email me, huds0n@swbell.net about getting it setup for a test run.

Thanks!
