Ep.3 is supposed to be set 2 years after Ep.2 .Although stated in the OT, i honestly dont see how Anakin could pass the trials and become a knight. Actually i dont see why they would let him try to in 2 years time.

 

For one thing, he's a n00b... he's so arrogant and annoying, he forgets orders and his pony tail keeps switching sides. In my opinion, if Obi Wan lets him take the trials he is teh sux0r padawan.

The Jedi Council seems to think he's almost ready for the trials, after all, they allowed him to go do a mission on his own...and they know that he wouldn't be able to handle a Jedi Master--they can deal with that.

Together Obi and Anni pwned dooku, they may have done! After how Anni fared "on his own" see he was not ready for the trials, they should have.

Maybe Anakin's mission alone WAS his trial--and he failed misserably. I don't think Anakin becomes a Jedi Knight before he falls, afterall in the OT he tells Obi-Wan "When I left you I was but the learner, now I am the Master..." This would seem to indicate that he never got past the level of a Padawan while a member of the Jedi Order.

Or it could mean that was just the last time he saw Obi-Wan prior to the classic trilogy. For all we know they get estranged before the Jedi Order is dissolved.
