fabrikashon
Does anyone know how to add ambient noise to the level? I tried using target_speaker but for some reason I can't get it to work...
RichDiesal
In MP or SP? In SP, add a target_speaker, select looped-on, and place them throughout your level wherever you want there to be noise... if you place them right next to each other, it will just increase the range/focus of the sound and won't conflict with the other, so don't worry about that. In MP, add a target_speaker, and simply place it. Set a key of wait (for how often you want to sound to play - if you want it constant ambient noise, select 0 for wait) For some reason you can't have a looped-on MP3 in MP, so you hafta go around that limitation... it's very strange. Hubris
Look in your sound folder, which should have been created when you extracted assets0, there should be a txt file called "sound." That has a master list of almost all of the environmental and ambient sounds. For those not listed in there it will at least give you the right idea of where to look. As a sidenote, the majority of those are soundsets, meaning, they are a set of sounds predisposed to a certain loop, for example, if you have a stone door, and use the stone_door soundset as a key/value combo it will string those wavs together, so it will play the sound of the door opening, the rumbling sound of it moving, and then the cracking sound of it sliding into place. Proxy
Ahh, thanks Rich. I was wondering why I couldn't loop_on a mp3. There are a lot of little quirks in MP mapping eh?
RichDiesal
More than I like. And incidentally, I haven't been able to get actual looping repeating sounds... if you actually set "wait" to "0", the sound will only play once (0 disables autotriggering). If you set it to "1", the sound will repeat, but there will be a 1 second gap between plays. I believe Kamino may be my last MP map.
