i believe Lucas has an alterior motvie with showing the Death Star in ep2, which contradicts EU, i have another thread about it well anyway what ppl 4get about EU is that all ideas run through Lucas or someone else, he or someone else approves the ideas, it's not like some1 just publishes a book about star wars and doesn't tell Lucas about it.

Well, he gets mone for it, and the books are allowed to have lightsabers and that fancy logo on the cover, but he is free to contradict them, because he is the creator of Star Wars.

And it's good to see that he finally took over the control again.

(I mean, hey, the empire was a human/male-dominated military organization and all the foes from the EU were either lick-my-boots-or-I-whip-you females or alien admirals.

Not that I din't like Darla, eh... Daala or Thraw [in fact, the Timothy Zahn books are among the best books I EVER found], but after 30+ years of fighting the empire and battling dark jedi, the EU became just plain boring.

With the death of Chewbacca and the alien invasion of the <attempt to write the name, resulting in utter failure> the authors finally risked something and scored a hit again, but I understand that Lucas wants creative freedom instead of nervous fans sitting around everywhere and discussing if Bevel Levinski skin is blue enough or not.)
