Guest Kurgan
I recieved this in my email today. It's worth a read: To: kurgan@iastate.edu From: Chy <chyren23@q-net.net.au> Subject: JKMAG BFP2.5 HOAX --STATEMENT BEGINS-- -------------------------------------------------------------------- OFFICIAL JKMAG ANNOUNCEMENT - BFP2.5 HOAX It has come to our attention that there are bogus skinpacks being advertised on various sites as addons to the popular BFP2 series created by JKMAG. These files are in NO WAY connected with JKMAG or the BFP2 series of skinpacks for JK and MotS. JKMAG HAS NEVER released a BFP2.5. We WILL NEVER release a BFP2.5 The files advertised as BFP2.5 contain TROJANS which will cause severe damage to your computer systems and possibly allow remote access by others to your computer whilst online. It is vital that you do not download these files, and that you report all instances of them to the proper authorities. If you see a file anywhere that is not the official endorsed JKMAG BFP2 or BFP2.1 and that is not linked or mentioned on the JKMAG site, then it has nothing whatsoever to do with JKMAG, and you download it at your own risk. We take NO RESPONSIBILITY for damage to your system or files if you do so. Currently JKMAG has NO PLANS to release a follow up to BFP2.1 in the version 2 series. IF we do release a follow-up, it will NOT be called BFP2.5, (or 2 point anything). IF we do, this file will ONLY be available from JKMAG first, it will NOT appear anywhere else before it appears on the JKMAG site, and the first places that hear about it will be jediknight.net, followed by massassi.net If you see a file anywhere other than JKMAG that claims to be an official addon to the BFP2 or BFP2.1 packs, it is a BOGUS file in violation of the JKMAG copyright on the BFP name. Report such files immediately to the ISP hosts of the site in question, and to JKMAG and any/all JK related sites. DO NOT USE ANY FILE OR PACK THAT CONTAINS A VARIATION ON THE BFP NAME THAT DOES NOT ACCORD WITH THE ABOVE INFORMATION. You could put your system at risk if you do so. JKMAG takes NO RESPONSIBILITY for damage incurred to your system from bogus files downloaded from unofficial sites. Always download from accredited oficial domains linked on JKMAG. REPEAT: The files currently in circulation under the name BFP2.5 contain a TROJAN virus. Do not install them, and report all such files to the host site as violations of terms of service. Thankyou for your attention. Guest Chyren
Duder! Thanks for posting it - but can you edit out everything but the announcement itself? I don't want a zillion emails asking me about freakin' Leo DiCaprio as Anakin.
