Dumahim
Having problems getting my server listed publicly through my network. Here's the setup. Computer #1 (server) Dell P4 1.7 gig 768 MB of RAM GeForce 4 ti4600 Win XP Computer #2 (client) HP P3 800 256 MB of RAM Voodoo 4 PCI Win ME DSL line into an external DSL modem. The modem is connected to the Dell through USB and then the HP gets it's connection to the net using Internet Connection Sharing off the Dell though a Netgear hub. Ideally I would like to have the HP run a dedicated server and then be able to play on the Dell, but I haven't been able to get my server listed on the internet, only on the local network. I have tried running the server on the Dell and disabling the Win XP firewall, but it ended up with the same results. I'm using JediRunner to set up the server. Anyone have any ideas I might be able to try? If any info is needed from me, I could probably post it tonight when I get home from work.
EaSyKiLL
In jedi runner there is a setting for your ip address, try clearing that field. Worked for me. Seems that the ip you enter conflicts with the ip it brodcasts to the master servers. If it is already cleared maybe try entering the ip there. Dumahim
Ok, I recall there being 2 places for an IP (or maybe one of them was a port?) and one was filled in and the other was blank with an IP button next to it. It didn't work with it left blank so I tried it with the IP provided and that was a no-go as well. I'll toy with that stuff a bit more and see what happens. willum
ok, find out the dell's ip that goes out on the internet. i.e. the ip that gets assigned from the DSL modem. then add this command to startup script / command line. +set net_ip xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
Dumahim
Excellent, thanks. That makes sense. Now to find that IP

Dumahim
ok, that got it to show on the local server list but it's not showing on the internet server list on the Dell. I'll have to con someone into checking if it's out there.
EaSyKiLL
Try running your server without jedi runner. Make a shortcut to your jk2 dedicated exe and then add +dedicated2 and +<yourconfigname>.cfg to the command line and see if it works. Otherwise you will probably need to map the ports jk2 uses to the ip address of your server. You can read this If that doesnt help check the website of your router/gateway/firewall manufacturer.
