Orange Goblin
Does anyone know of a way of converting JK2 demos to avi files to be edited? Oh and also, how can you start a listen server? Going to create server, it just makes a LAN server...

NITEMARE
i know. but first: how fast is your pc? i have an athlon 1466 mhz with 768 ddr ram, and still had to do some tricks to get it down. i'll tell u how to capture the video but it makes no sense if your pc is to slow. check my video out. http://www.nitemares.de/philes/viro.zip gotta have the recent divx 5.2 to play it http://www.divx.com/divx/ just made it for testing and learning. not that the viro guy is my hero or something. but he is one of the hardest opponents tho... Arjay
Hey what's the console command for recording a demo? Also: In HL the had a "makemovie" command that recorded a string of bitmaps that could be extracted by an .exe file. You could thed turn the bitmaps into a avi. Maybe JediKnight2 has somethin like that.......
NITEMARE
in jk2 its a jpg capturer but only for single player. and if u dont have a pc above 1ghz then better forget it. i can imagine to get it to work at 1333 mhz but lower than that? i dont know... what i did was getting a capture programm and start jk2 in window mode with 640x480 and captured an uncompressed avi on the harddrive. compression did not work for me because it dropped to many frames. i guess it was to slow... Arjay
Ok, i got it to work for MP, but does anyone know how to do it in Sp?
NITEMARE
in sp there is only one option, jpgs! lots of them... bind F7 "set cl_avidemo 80; echo Recording Started" bind F8 "set cl_avidemo 0; echo Recording Stopped" that should do it. but beware u need a fast pc and a low resolution. check the screenshot folder for the huge amount of jpgs. i dont kow how to make an avi out of it cuz i didnt try it yet... bensan
You can make make an avi from the jpegs using Animation Shop3 it usualy comes with Paint Shop Pro 7, no sound can be added though. Maybe edit it using another video type app?
NITEMARE
http://www.virtualdub.org thats the app i use to edit avis. but i think its gonna be a pain in the ass to record sound and try to syncronize it...if the thing with jpg recording works out that is...
