monsoontide Posted June 17, 2002 Posted June 17, 2002 Hi Everyone, I've been working for the last week on the queens ship and am thoroughly sick of it. It's about 75% built with no real textures as yet. The biggest problem is all the curving surfaces. I'm quite happy with the exterior hull (Although the landing gear need to be rebuilt as md3 objects - they look bad as they are - I hate the vertex and edge editing tools in Radiant - Grrr.), which is complete save for the edges of the wings and the seams between all the patches. The interior is another matter entirely!!!!!! The layout of the interior in the movie doesn't match up with the outer hull and the amazing cutaway book just screws up the layout more (plus its missing bits)!!! The interior features the Queens cabin, exit ramp area, main room, cockpit, queens throne room, droid room and some bit in between. I've made a fairly primitive start with standard bespin textures but there are so many curvy surfaces and its so hard to make diagonal & angled brushes that fit exactly, I'm having a nightmare of a time. If you would like a look, let me know and I can e-mail some screen grabs (I'm not sure how to get an image into this post - first use - someone please let me know - thx) So... if anyone more experienced with Radiant wants to take a stab at finishing this, just let me know your e-mail (Reply to me via this forum) and I'll ZIP all the necessary files and send em to you.
