cant update to 1.03 & game crashes

I've bought jk2 this morning and after installing and playing some single player (beginning, without saber) i tried the multiplayer with bots and i noticed the game crashes every time someone throws the lightsaber and it hits a surface. Then i downloaded 1.03 patch and i get a message saying the update is not compatible with my jk2 version.

Tried reinstalling the game, but still the same happens.

I've tried the demo of the game and it works fine and doesnt crash when the saber hits a surface.

(btw, i have the spanish version of the game, but i havent seen different updates for the different languages).

I'd try re-installing and updating immediatley after the re-install.

that's what i've done, reinstall and run update inmediately without running the game first, but the updater still doesnt work
