Yom
in my point of veiw this is how he did it form the first time we hear " bring balance to the force he will u think" we start to think how dos e he do it. he in fact had to desroy the last of the sith. but he dose not do this (or at least not yet) . he gos off and be comes a sith lourd. well the twins are born and luke is the one that bring the balnce. he gos and dose all his traing and then he confunts vader (the second time) then vader starts to see his son being killd by the Emporer (my spelling sux today) then vader tuns agin to light and saves his son. by killing the old fart Emporer. this is when balance is restoed any questions? well dont ask me ask some one eals YOM
Zindell
Yes this is how it is told, he brought balance by eliminating the sith. Although my thinking of balance is that he eliminated alot of jedi and put an equal number of jedi/sith in the galaxy.
MotionMan
By ballance , I think lucas meant: Eliminating the evil in the force. Anakin/Vader brings ballance, not Luke.

MotionMan
Originally posted by Yom with out luke vader would of not come back to the light Luke was just a peice of the puzzle. I mean you could also say, "With out Anakin going to the dark side he couldnt have gotten close to the emperor to kill him". or "without his mom dying he wouldnt have had that hate and anger to join the dark side" Ect ect. He is the chosen one who will fullfill the prophecy. All the other people just fall into place. It has to happen that way. Its destiny.

MasterD-LeyAmas
Just my thought on the prophecy of "the one", even though it may be different in the story: At the time of Ep1-2, the force seems to me to be terribly out of balance only because there are numerous Jedi and only two Sith. Anakin turns to the dark side, kills (from what we know) all but two from the Jedi Order, Obi-Wan and Yoda. The force is then balanced between good and evil 2-2. I think that the Council thinks "the one to bring balance to the force" is going to eliminate evil, but actually ends up being the one to balance out good vs. evil. Again, not facts from the story, just my thoughts.
