Ready Wan Posted June 23, 2002 Posted June 23, 2002 I have been having problems with one of my computers locking up when I click on a game in the mp screen. everything loads fine, I click on join, select a game, and when I click on the join server button, the sound locks going into a loop (playing the same sound over and over), and the only way to stop it is to reboot the machine. I have another machine that does this, but after a minute or two, it will join the game and play is just fine. This other machine wont join no matter what. however if I set the trouble machine up as a server, other machines can join it and play. this is a problem that only occurs with JKO. I've tried other games and they work just fine. does anyone have any tips for me? thanks! btw, this occurs on LAN the machine is a p3 550 256mb RAM gf4 ti4400 aureal sound card
Ready Wan Posted June 23, 2002 Author Posted June 23, 2002 I found out that if I hold down the windows key and ESC then it will load fine and I can play. I think there is a program that is trying to dial out or something, which brings up the dialogue box (which I cant see from the JKO screen). I checked in the connections properties of communications (In win98) but couldnt find an option that stopped the lockup problem. any ideas?
