need some opinion on duel_maze....

hello, i just started making duel_maze a couple of days ago and planned to add some fog and other suicide jiggly puffs in it. so, i made some fog and some other stuff but i have a problem. the fogs and the lava doesnt suits well with the imperial textures. should i use yavin textures for this?

 

i m planning to make all the rooms the same and they r all like mazes cause they look the same with some rooms with lava and deep pits. btw, there will be accent fog and i might add a teleporter.

 

no screenies at the moment tho cuase it looks bad now.

sounds like a neat idea to me also!

You can always make the lava pits with the Earthy Yavin stuff, and make the rooms imperial if you want to....you can have it both ways.

 

and for the fog, just try to make a broken pipe.....have the steam shooting out if jk2 has that effect, and, aim it into the fog....!

neat lava effects ya got there pal! :) how did u get tat steam effect? its sooo cooll!!! I WANT IT!! :D do u guys want me to explain to u the basic layout of my map or u want surprises? i might turn out bad cause its my first map.

 

1 question:

i tried adding accent fog, but the fog doesnt have the fog effect. i mean it looks like a layer of nothing.

You know, this is really weird.

Know why?

Because originally, Mimban Temple was going to be like this, it was even going to be imperialish. Weird...

And Mimban Temple is my other map. But it is weird that you just "thought up" something that I thought of doing before. You have telekinetic powers or something?

Umm, well I'm kinda doing this on my own, but, I could use some really alien looking statues. You know, statues of aliens, make them really alien, I don't want some statue of a human with one extra hand. Let me go dig up my thread, ">:AGSP:< Mimban Temple" I need to add something to that anyway...

i need some opinions of u ppl on this matter. do u guys want the death room to have a couple of grids for the player to walk on or u want the player to fall straight in with nothing to walk on? pls gimme ur feedback.

Players should always be given a chance. Instant death is a sure sign of poor level design and the game ends up like tomb raider. You know the thing where you die until you work out the correct way to do somthing.

 

That will piss people off no end.

 

Player deaths should always be at the hands of somone else. Make a retractable platform with a switch or a trapdoor with a switch so that the other player can dump their opponant in.

 

Know the level design rules.

i hope i would make it right. by the way, i will make a catwalk around 40+ grid for the width if u know wat i mean... and there will be a platform above every room for players to hid(especially the ones with flags) but i wondered, if i add the ramps, wouldn't it make the chances of ppl dying a lil less? or is it tat if players die more ofthen, it pisses them off :/
