How do I make skins, edit sabers, create maps, etc. (making my own changes to JK2)?

Newb here in field of mods, new skins, new bots, sabers.

 

Can someone gifted in the Force give me a hand in this new experience? I mean, what would I need in order to do this and that? (ex: new skins or maps). Could you guys give me a list of what I need and what to do?
