Altimira
ok, i have a couple questions. In my map, as i have said on a couple treads, i have archways that i want to be specific shape. I am now trying a square cylinder to make them how i want them, cause i dont have a problem with the shape of the caps like bevels and endcaps. I have gotten my textures to not be warped, but then it is curved to the mesh, and if i use 'natural,' it will be warped but no curving involved. how do i fix this, so one, the texture matches the other brushes around it, and two, the texture isnt warped. http://www.freewebz.com/thrakus/archs.htm Another question is that i also want my doors to be force pushable. I found that little x thing, and right now it works fine. but how do i make them open when your running up to it? Also, can you force push doors open in multiplayer? -altimira
RichDiesal
I got a blank page from that link, so I'm not sure what it was showing. As for matching caps to the textures of nearby brushes, it's damn near impossible. You CAN do it, but it's REALLY had to get them lined up right. I myself would just make a new texture specifically for the cap to make it look different. If you load Raven's ffa_bespin, you'll notice that all of their arch-caps are either in places with very plain repeating texturing or they have different textures altogether. To make the door open when you run up to it, either remove all flags or create a trigger_multiple in the area you want it to recognize you standing there and target it at the door. (This is useful for 1-way doors too). And I'm pretty sure force usable doors work in MP, but I'm not sure on that. Haven't actually tried it. Altimira
Fixed the link, I was wondering why no one replied. I just had a brainstorm, if create a bevel or end cap, cap them, and select them separately and them cycle the textures so none of them are warped and make them line up closely to the brushes around the arch. Ill probably make a WIP thread in a week or so, hopefully most people (mostly Science fiction lovers, which all star wars fans are) are going to love my map (although its not Star Wars). RichDiesal
Oh, use the SET button under PATCH in the surface inspector. I would probably use 1x5 or so for that specific curve (maybe 5x1? try both )
