Name and controls not being saved..

Each time I load jk2, the controls are default and the name is set to Padawan.

 

My friend told me that his is saved even when he loads the game again.

 

Is there any way to fix this problem? Because it's kind of annoying having to set name and all controls each time I open jk2.

Well, chances are you're loading the game from icons you've copied from the game folder. This is a bad idea. As I found out, said icons load the game in its "safe mode," which prevents settings from being saved.

 

The best method to load JK2 that also allows settings to be saved is to run it from the autorun prompt when you insert the game disk, the no-cd key, or exec your CD drive with the disk inside.
