Server & Play same time

Hi this a great place btw

i need help...maybe u can help me..

i want to run a server and play on it from the same pc. now after i set all parameters and i start, the game onsole pops up and starts runnung the script

one problem....the game doesnt start..lol

i am using Adsl through an ISP to connect...now what can i do to run and play on the same server...

server ip? server port?

server type?

anything special i need to do?

i know u dont have to help me..but

i will really appreciate it if u can

what ur making is a dedicated server. to join it from the same pc load up the game once it's created and then it'll be listed under local games for u to join.

but i cant see it there...the server that is..

i could connect through specifying IP add.(in console "connect <ip>)when i specified ip in jk runner

but i was connected as one of the regular players

i want to admin. the server and have it published on the in-game browser, i cant see it on either gamespy or browser-in game

i want ppl to be able to join my server...

please help... thx all

well u admin it from the ded server console...

 

 

and ppl will be able to see ur server if it is dedicated, just u can't, i can't see mine either.

You need to specify in your server cfg to run on a different port than the default. My server runds on port 28069 and I join the match on the same machine throught the default port of 28070.

 

If ppl cant see it listed on the master server lists then you eiher have you router/firewall ports fowarded incorrectly or you server.cfg is missing something.

Well i have tried port differnt no.

and still cant see it

i think i am behind a firewall...how can i solve this

annoying problem?

i just want to make a server that i can admin and play in same time....i have a powerfull machine that can support it too

and i have an 1.5 meg connection to the net
