It is very simple. There are a total of seven popularly studied lightsaber combat forms in the Star Wars universe. The most widely used is the form III, a technique used to deflect blaster shots. Obi-Wan Kenobi is a user of form III. Form II is the focus of Master Yoda's combat, though other form techniques are incorporated into his style. Mace Windu uses a form VII. This is a very intense and dangerous form of combat because it comes intensely close to the dark side. Master Windu's supreme control of the form VII has made him very well reknowned.

Several other jedi, of course, use all the other forms though the form II and III are the most widely used. There are other specific references at starwars.com and in the myriad of published documents.

Your Welcome

OK these are descriptions of the forms I know....

Form I- Haven't seen anything on this Yet.

Form II- This is a Form of elegant strikes and parries. Count Dooku uses this form and his lighsaber hilt is curved because it is better suited for this Form.

Form III- This form focuses on defense. Obi-Wan Kenobi began to practice Form III after his mentor, Qui-Gon Jinn, died. He ntocied that Qui-Gon had been caught off guard so he wanted to ensure he would not make his master's mistake.

Form IV- Used by Anakin Skywalker. This form focuses directly of strength.

Form V-?

Form VI- ?

Form VII- This is the hardest of the forms to master becaouse it covers speed, strength and defense as well as flashy moves. THis form is rarley used because it requires so much control over the Force that it leans closely to dark side practices.

Form V and VI mostly likely are combinations of two areas.

Form I is probably focused on speed.
