activating switches and turrets

in the first stage, how do i activate the switch to move the elavator, and also how do i use the turret?

You do both tasks with the same keystroke, which I believe is Enter by default. (I remapped the keys so I may be wrong; just check Controls in your setup for the "Use" key.)

 

To activate an elevator, find the small control panel which is usually located on one of the walls inside the elevator, or just outside it. Point your crosshairs at it, then press "Use".

 

To use a turret, hop up onto it, then press "Use".

The default use key is "e". Stand in front of the elevator switch with your crosshairs on it and press "e". Same thing with turrets, stand right up against them and press "e". Good luck!
