I am not an expert so I would like guides with easy and simple explanations. And by the way could you also tell me what's the best program skinning, modeling and mapping. As for programs, I use Milkshape for modelling (easy to use interface +small download). Skinning is done in any graphics editing program (I, being a real pro use Paint (Using fancy programs is cheating). I'm not a mapper. I would advise you not to learn all these at once.
