Brisk
Hello, I'm having a strange problem with JK2 in that when I get to the Doomgiver - Shield Array mission and get to the Fyarr battle in the Shield Array room, my game locks up after the cutscene has finished. All I get it the sound repeating itself, and the only way to exit the game is to CTRL+ALT+DEL and shut it down manually. I haven't had any lockup or other related problems with JK2 prior to this, and its preventing me from progressing further into the game. My system specs are as follows: AMD Athlon XP 1600 512MB DDR RAM Geforce 2 Ti with latest reference Detonators from nvidia.com IBM Deskstar 60gb HDD @ ATA100 Epox 8K7A DDR motherboard Microsoft Intellimouse with Wheel Optical Windows XP Professional with all updates installed Jedi Knight version 1.03 I'm not running any programs in the background when I play either, and never have any problems with Q3A which I play a lot. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
Captain Archer
The only thing I can think of is bypassing the cutscene all together. I had a similar problem when I was playing Elite Force, after one of the cut scenes the game would just stop but if i skipped the cutscene altogether it would work. To skip cutscenes in JKII just hit whatever key you are using as your use key. The defualt use keys in JKII is "CTRL and E" You can aso try reinstalling the game, becuase some of the files may be corrupted.
Brisk
Yeh, I should have mentioned that I have tried that (I use Space, the cutscenes finishes then it hangs) to no avail. I'll try reinstalling, and will also try installing the 23.11 drivers for my Geforce as mentioned in the Announcements.
Brisk
Fixed it I just lowered the detail and for some reason, it worked. Strange how the next area (Yavin Swamp) is the most graphically intensive area i've encountered so far, yet doesn't exhibit the problems I had earlier..... still, i'm not complaining
