Vezner
What do you guys think could be causing a freezing problem with Jedi Outcast, and sometimes with Medal of honor? I also have had my computer suddenly reboot itself in the middle of a game. This hasn't happened often but it has happened a couple of times. I used to be running all of these games fine on Windows 98 but now XP is giving me grief every now and then. I love XP because the game runs smoother when I play but geez if it freezes it makes it suck. Do you think it could be my direct x? Ideas are welcome. I have a 1.2 gig Athlon. 256 Megs of Ram. G-Force 2 MX with 64 Megs of ram. 20 Gig HD. I am pretty sure that I am running DX 8.1 but I may be wrong.
Vezner
That if I were to uninstall my drivers completely and reinstall them that it might fix my problem? Also I have a new problem. Windows seems to be loading a little slowly lately. It used to load very quickly but now it sits on that blue Windows screen for a good minute or two before the desktop appears. I have Norton and have run a Windoctor on my system and it seems to be fine. HELP!!!! I fear my system is dying!!!
Vezner
But for those of you that are interested I did fix my problem (no thanks to you guys). J/k... I know that it sometimes gets to be a pain helping a whiner who is trying to get his game to work. I uninstalled the drivers, reinstalled them, and reinstalled Direct X 8.1. Thus far I haven't experienced a single freeze. I even tried to start a huge rumble with BOTS by using the cheats and adding a ton of them but it still didn't freeze. That used to almost always guarantee a lockup before. So I guess I'm fixed. I just hope it stays that way.
Vlaktor
I have the same freaking problems. And I have a much more expensive video card: GeForce 4 Ti 4600. I had a GeForce 3 and thought it might be the problem, so I bought the super bad ass Ti 4600. Yes it plays super smooth.......all the way up until it freezes. Haven't had it reboot on me yet though. And yes, just as you....I had absolutely no problems under Windows ME. And people say it sucked. At least it didn't crash during a game. And for those of you wondering...I have ALL the latest drivers.
Divine shadow
I have just installed windows XP Home Edition. When I load up the game the main menu saids open GL error. I have a Nvidia Riva TNT with 384 rams if memory. When I have win 98se it worked. How can I fix this problem?
Riomo1
The reason I ask is I used to be running the Nividia Riva TNT 64 Pro and it's got 32MB of Memory. I could play the game but the graphics were not very good so I purchased a GeForce3 Card from Nividia. No problems thus fur but everyone remember when installing drivers you have to install the video card drivers first and then install DirectX 8.
