When playing on the Doom Shields map, after the meeting between Kyle and Fyarr, where Fyarr tells Kyle about the attack on the Jedi Academy, when the cutscene ends, and it gets back to gameplay, the game just hangs and doesn't do anything, causing me to have to restart my system, which is quite annoying. This means that I can't fight Fyarr and continue on with the game. I had this problem before on my old system, a Duron 800 mhz, GeForce 3 Ti200, 512 mb pc133 ram, Monster Sound MX300, and Windows 98. The way I figured out how to fix it was that if I used Bi-Linear textures instead of Tri-Linear textures, it the game wouldn't hang. Well, I just recently upgraded my system to an Athlon XP 1800, GeForce 3 Ti200, 512 mb pc2700 ram, Monster Soud MX300, and Windows XP. I've been re-playing the game on the next highest difficulty (Jedi, I think), and I got to the scene again, and it crashed. I tried running with Bi-Linear textures, but, unfortunately, the problem wasn't solved this time. So I tried running the game on low detail (turning off GL Extensions, turning off shadows, 16 bit textures, etc.), nothing's worked. I'm using the 29.42 version of the Detonator Drivers. All of my drivers/bios are updated to the most recent version. I just finished browsing through all 60+ pages in this forum, trying any possible suggestion that could help solve my problem, nothing's worked. Does anybody know how I can fix this problem? I had had that problem with my old system and fixed it, but I have it again with Win XP on a NEW install, and can't seem to be able to fix it. There is something wrong with the game, I've seen a couple posts about a problem with freezing when the game gets to this point (which no one really bothered responding to, only a few people, I wonder why I even bothered posting here since nobody cares to help me - sorry if that came off a bit harsh, I'm just a little pissed off right now that I can't get this to work). Captain Archer Posted July 11, 2002 Share Posted July 11, 2002 The only thing I can think of is bypassing the cutscene all together. I had a similar problem when I was playing Elite Force, after one of the cut scenes the game would just stop but if i skipped the cutscene altogether it would work. To skip cutscenes in JKII just hit whatever key you are using as your use key. The defualt use keys in JKII is "CTRL and E" You can aso try reinstalling the game, becuase some of the files may be corrupted. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Well, I fixed the problem, so you guys don't have to worry about helping me, even though you didn't really help in the first place . As for RageDesigns, well, you're one scary individual .
