Mr.B_43
Sorry I am very new to SWGB I have heard about waypoints. Where are they and how do you use them. And further more what is the most effective way to use waypoints? Do most people only use them to explore with their scout at the start of the game or are there more uses? CatholLynAyt
You use waypoints to make it easier to scout and direct your forces. I use them primarily for scouting, but there are probably ways to use them for attacking as well. Click on the unit you want to set waypoints for. Hold down the shift key and right-click to set a waypoint. I don't think there's a limit, so I just set as many as I need to cover the territory I want to scout. When you've set your last waypoint (I usually set mine near where the scout starts, or near my base), release the shift key and right-click one more time to start the scout moving. I use the term scout for the unit but it works with any unit. At the beginning of a game (RM) I always set my scout mech moving in spirals out from my base to locate resources. If it's a water map, I build a frigate to scout the water ASAP. Later in the game, I might use an air unit to scout over my enemy's base in preparing for an assault. I'm not the greatest player, so you should consult some strategy guides to see what others suggest about scouting.
