How to freeze an animation mid-play?

Hey all,

 

Just wondering if anyone knows how to freeze the character animation currently being played? (Specifically, saber animations?). Or at least what parts of the code to start looking at...

 

I thought I would be able to investigate the saber locking code to find the answer, but a saber lock's turn out to be a small sub-set of animations used specifically for locks, and their start frames are always the same.

What I need is to be able to find out - at a particular point -what frame the current animation is on, and then be able to keep it there and stop the frames from advancing until a new animation comes along and over-rides it.
