Jasco Smlee
Are you connecting from the same PC or across a lan? Try setting your client rate to the same as the server's maxrate. What firewall are you using? Try turning it off temporarily to see it makes an difference.
Jiggypoo
Hey there! I've got the same problem with a minor exception. People try to connect to the server, then they time out...ping goes to 999 and then they're gone. The other symptom is that people connect, are playing w/ healthy ping times, then freeze, ping goes to 999 and they're gone. It's extremely agrrevating. We're running behind a firewall, but we've pushed the server into the DMZ to see if that would help. It hasn't. Any ideas?
Dak_iSuk
Are you running a map that would require download or a 1.03+/u1.04mod? If the map is too large like ffaepisode1 the players could time out before the download could finish.

sinoth
I have the same problem, and have figured out how to fix it (for me at least). The problem with running a client and server at the same time is they both compete for processor usage.. and since the client requires more power to run than the server, it usually wins. The way I've found around this is to raise the thread priority of the server. Here are some instructions on how to do it in Win2k, don't know about other OS's... Create the dedicated server and hit CTRL-ALT-DEL. Open then task manager, and click on the "Processes" tab. Find "jk2ded.exe" and right click on it. From there, go to "Set Priority", then "High". When I do this, all CONNECTION INTERRUPTED problems vanish. Hope this helps.
